Phenomenological optical potentials are often used to describe the elastic scattering of two nuclei, and also the inelastic scattering when deformed microscopically. It is more appealing and satisfying, however, to obtain the potentials from a microscopic basis since this requires the input of a nucleon nucleon force and knowledge of nuclear structure. This represents a step in the goal of unifying nuclear physics. The double-folding (DF) model is a particularly simple and tractable approach which gives the potential as a convolution of an effective nucleon-nucleon interaction and the density distributions of the two nuclei. In the present study, we analyzed the elastic scattering data of 4He projectiles from 12C,16O, 28Si, 58Ni and 124Sn targets at different energies. We have constructed the complex DF optical potentials, the first case, both real and imaginary parts have the same shape renormalized with two different factors NR and NI. The second case, the real DF potential is joined with a phenomenological imaginary one in a Woods-Saxon (WS) form besides deriving the adjusted W-S parameters potentials.
