Metallic implants are widely used as orthopedic or dental implants due to their superior mechanical properties and bio-compatibility. However, their bio-activities are not as good as that of calcium phosphate ceramics and during implantation they can only form osteointegration at the interface of metallic implant and bone tissue, instead of bone-bonding. To maintain the high mechanical characteristics of metallic materials in addition to achieve fast and long term bio-active surfaces, implant surfaces should be coated with a developed calcium phosphate this is superior bio-compatible and bio-active acting as a barrier against ion release. In this book an alternative coating method was tested. This new deposition route is electro-less and based on redox reaction having several advantages of controlled conditions. In this work, Auto-catalytic bathes were performed on Ti and Ti alloys. These bathes were worked with different catalysts having dual function during coating process; act as catalysts in addition to antibacterial effect. The bio-mimetic deposition process of calcium phosphate coating on metallic substrates were investigated using a SBF soaking test.
