One of the major causes of surgical site infections (SSIs) is the inappropriate hand preparation. The choice of skin disinfectants and methods of skin preparation is still aberrant in health practice and interesting area to investigate by nursing students which appear during clinical training at operating room. Aim: The study was conducted to investigate the effect of alcohol based hand rub versus traditional scrubbing among nursing students. Research Design: Randomized controlled trial (RCT) (Cross-over study), single blinded study. Two types of randomization were used first: systematic random sample for enrolling students to the study; second: simple random sample for allocation into two groups. Sample: 68 nursing students at medical surgical nursing II course for the academic year 2019-2020. Setting: Operating rooms at a governmental Hospital
